Raimondo Gasperini

Athlete/Coach/Promoter/Organizer and Talent Scout! Father of two wonderful golden boys, Luca & Giulio, “Founder” of Wingfoil Mania and XRay Surf Academy, an indomitable champion and a living local legend! Third place at the World Master Gwa 2023! Throughout my career, I've participated in all the major international professional circuits including PWA, EFTP, and GWA. Notable achievements include second place at the EFTP European Freestyle Championship in Croatia and third place at the PWA World Championship in Austria in 2010. Named Waterman of the Year in 2010, I've dominated the Italian scene with numerous titles in freestyle and wave disciplines. As an international Red Bull athlete for a decade, I pioneered the XRay Talent Factory and initiated the first Red Bull Ramp for jumps. Many freestyle windsurfing champions have emerged from my coaching, and my competition formats and events are widely emulated to this day.

What do you love about hydrofoil compared to other watersports?
It allows me to be on the water almost every day, and the sense of freedom it provides has quickly turned into an incredible passion.

Which are your 3 favorite spots for foiling? Why?

Sardinia: This is my second home, offering optimal conditions for both freestyle and wave riding.
South Africa: It provides excellent spots for training in strong winds and boasts an incredible quality of life.
Fuerteventura: It's the closest place to Italy with wonderful conditions and pleasant temperatures year-round.
